22nd Annual Gladys Ricart and Victims of Domestic Violence Memorial Walk

Gathering begins at 8AM at the Holyrood Episcopal Church ~ Iglesia Santa Cruz

715 W 179th St, New York, NY 10033 (Corner of Ft. Washington)

The time of the start of the 22nd Opening Ceremony will be announced on or about early August, 2022.

There will be guest speakers and various tributes to and an acknowledgment of domestic violence victims in NYC from 2001, the year of the first March. The Opening Ceremony will conclude with an Invocation by Holyrood Episcopal Church’ Priest in Charge Fr. Luis Barrios.

Walking will commence immediately following the conclusion of the Opening Ceremony, the time will be announced on or about early August, 2022.


The 2022 Route is as follows:

Walking Starts from the corner of the Holyrood Episcopal Church, 179th Street and Fort Washington:

*Stopping at the steps of the Bronx Supreme Court for approx. 35mins for Speakers and lunch. (Choice of a cheese, ham or turkey sandwich and water will be provided.)

Walking Resumes between 12:30 and 1PM (Approx. time to be confirmed on or about early September, 2022.)

*Stopping at 125th Street in front of the State Building Plaza for approx.15mins for speakers, music and water. (Estimated time of arrival to this stop will be announced on or about early September, 2022.) (From the 3rd Ave Bridge to here is approx. 1.4 miles) 

Total Walk: Approximately 7 miles

The 2022 Closing Ceremony will be held at the Julia de Burgos Cultural Arts Center, 1680 Lexington Ave, New York, NY 10029 (corner of 106th Street) (Estimated time for the start of the Closing will be announced on or about early September, 2022.)

Once at the Center the marchers will have approx.20minutes for a bathroom break, get food and water before the start of Closing Ceremony where there will be tributes to victims, guest speakers, and acknowledgment of participants.

*Dresses and signs will be collected at the Closing.
